Car maintenance – when to change engine oil

A car should have it’s engine oil changed every 3000 – 5000km or every 3 months which ever is first. You want the oil on the dip stick to look like the right photo not the left photo!

When this is done a garage will usually do a multipoint visual inspection as they need to get the car up on the ramp anyway which means they give the car a once over to make sure there is nothing majorly wrong with it! Average costs for this are around 30$ inc Tax
