How to redeem Aegean miles for award ticket
Aegean Airlines was one of the fast ways to get to gold in a Star Alliance Airline. They have been clamping down on this and as of November 24, 2014 unless you were already Gold , it has become much less lucrative!
This won’t stop the many of you out there, having reach gold needing to spend Aegean miles on other star alliance partners for Award Tickets.
Aegean’s portal for this is very bad, you basically fill out a contact form with your details and someone will email you back. I have done this twice and no one has!
Click on “Request Award Ticket” option from the right navigation list and select your desired flight(s) and date(s). Check the award seat availability for any Aegean scheduled flight and find out the number of Award Miles required for your preferred flight.
The best way is to call them up
- You will need to have the dates and where you want to fly from and to ( Airport codes help )
- You will get them to check Award Availability , just because you seen Star Alliance flights on a search engine doesn’t mean they are available for Award Bookings
- You will need to pay tax for the booking in Euros
- Your cannot have more than 2 connections
