American express travel credit into cash

If you have signed up to a credit card with American Express , some cards e.g. the Platinum gives you $200 Annual travel credit to spend on Flights , Car Rental and More.

There is actually a work around to get this back as cash which is even better! Just book a hotel which is 100% Refundable , wait a few days for the credit to post , then call up American Express to cancel and refund the hotel booking

FYI when you find the hotel on Amex Travel site , when your choose the Room there will be a Link under it called Policies e.g. below to see the Cancellation Policies , FYI Fairmont usually have free Cancellation a day before your reservation and will be over 200$ to make the most of the coupon!
